Third Grade 2012-13
Third graders just finished their state research projects. Most of them used at least two resources (a book from the library and World Book Online) to learn the following: capital, symbols, land characteristics, date of admittance as a state, resources/products and two additional interesting facts of their choice. They used the information to create and record the projects below. We used the Educreations iPad application to make these. Students used their own artwork along with copyright-friendly sources for their images. It is important for our students to understand that most of the fantastic images we find on the web are copyrighted material meaning that we cannot use them without express permission from the owner. We learned as we went, but they turned out great! Click on the images below to view & listen to their projects.
Sharks in Second Grade! (2011-12)
In February the second grade spent time researching sharks. Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Keltner and I assisted the students with their book and Internet research. The students then produced five PowerPoint presentations which we have combined into one. Enjoy their work below!
